About Me

I am Lisa of East Anglia (Norwich, Norfolk to be precise), and I am on a mission to love writing again. In my mid-teens, I was always writing, be it fan-fiction or original pieces. I lived for it. A decade on, adulthood kicked in and life kept getting in the way.

In September 2014, I decided to quit my soul-destroying 9-5 job and return to the University of East Anglia as a full-time mature student, straight into my second year after a seven year break from education. In 2015 I was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.), which I admit was a huge blow. However, with the right support, I managed to obtain a 2:1 in BA (Hons) English Literature with Creative Writing, graduating in June 2016.

Despite now living with a chronic illness, without a doubt I know I took the right path. Life hasn’t panned out quite the way I expected, but all I can do is my best, despite the limitations often posed by M.E.. Sadly, I have more bad days than good, but with the help of Read&Write and my friendly assistants, I am able to get my thoughts into words when my condition allows.

When I am not shrouded in brain fog, I wish to share local stories, thoughts, opinions, and tales about my rescue guinea pigs. Thank you for stopping by.

Affiliate Disclosure

Sometimes I use affiliate links. What does that mean? It means that if I’ve used a product or service and liked it, and that product or service has an affiliate program, I sign up for it (for example, Amazon). Then, when I mention that product or service in one of my blog posts, I will link to it using my affiliate link.

Should you end up buying something as a result of one of those links, I might get a little something for my troubles. Rest assured, affiliate links do not affect the price you pay, they just hopefully go some way towards helping me with running costs for my site (and so I can keep up the passion for writing again).

I am by no means an influencer – I do not have a huge following, I do not get a shedload of traffic to this site, but I do enjoy writing. Chronic illness has led me down the path of self-employment, and therefore I do what I can to get by.

There should be no question that if I feel comfortable with a product or service and refer it to you all, I don’t mind making a little money (if any, as its not guaranteed) for that referral. I hope you would do the same, especially in these troubling times we live in.
